The usual requests please, lads - decent coffee spots/restaurants/sights/record shops

Also bars - particularly any metal/punk divey spots - I think that I have the craft breweries sorted.

Looking at the reported price of everything over there - I doubt that I'll be doing very much pint or record shopping!

Hey Stout, go to the shit pit. Kurt has a heap of recs for Stockholm for ya in the Replies To The Off Topic thread.
He's a regular visitor there.

RoQ: https://roq.se/

That's^^^ my moth's uncle's bar. Really cool place...

Pub Anchor: https://www.pubanchor.com/

Harry B. James: https://harrybjames.se/

Those 3 bars all play Rock and Metal....

For cheap beers. Go to The Central Bar. A large beer is just over €4, and it's decent beer.

It's nice to sit outside it and people watch, along with plenty of American vehicles roaring up the boulevard in central Stockholm....
The locals go to The Central Bar for a few drinks before they head out elsewhere...

Don't buy anything in the Old Town, not even a coffee. It's an overpriced cunt of a spot, but cool to hang out in....

Stroll around the waterfronts of Stockholm as much as you can, really cool and relaxing...
Public transport is efficient and a decent price. A little over €3 for most trips....

It's worth popping your head into the odd record shop, even in the Old Town. There's the odd sub €20 vinyl bargain to be had. They're all well stocked up on Rock & Metal too, as expected...

That's sound out, KC. Nice one. Of all those I only had Pub Anchor on my list. Nice one, I'll check those out. RoQ seems to be close to my hotel.

Is the 72-hour public transport card worth getting? I already bought tickets for the Arlanda Express. It was about €90 return (for the two of us).

Also - what's the shit pit...?

Quote from: Kurt Cocaine on March 20, 2024, 11:57:06 AMThis is from my missus re: the 72 hour travel card....

"Depends on how much they are gonna travel... and if they are gonna stay nearby town and so on
Each ticket cost 42kr (€3.80)
The 72 hour ticket is 350kr (€32)
So it's worth getting if you know you are gonna travel a lot
Arlanda Express is expensive
They should have gone with the bus to the airport instead"

The shit pit is the hidden gulag of this forum where KC was relegated to.
If you want to pay him a visit you have to volunteer to join the group. I think you do this by clicking on your username up top, then "my goups". From there you should be able to select "shit pit" and then you will be able to see a hidden part of this site, listed below the "Off Topic" section.

Went here the evening after we'd landed, checked-in to the hotel and had a look around. Got a Tuborg for less than €4 - by some margin the cheapest beer of the last few days.

Took a pew and not 3 minutes later it all fucking kicked off in there. 5 or 6 fellas in a brawl that started in a little alcove off the stage area and spilled onto the main floor.

Slaps being thrown, shouting and roaring, one lad of about 60 wearing a Hawaiian shirt had it ripped from his back (via his head).

Fella with a leather satchel, I thought might have been a bouncer but no, he was a punter got involved. I think that he thought he was tasty. Ended up nearly getting strangled by the strap attached to his man-bag.

I was delighted, bit of cabaret. My missus was not so happy.
